Haha!

If anyone knows artistic, it's you, FJ, so I will definitely take it as a compliment. However, once you see my "wildlife", you may change your mind.

Thankfully I have a "no takebacks" policy.

ps. Funny you should find this post, I was thinking about you when I did it. (in a good way:))

How did I miss this? I guess when my computer died, but still, shame on me.

Okay, your commentary is funny (as usual), but the shots are great. The nightlight and toilet are especially good. You may think I am pulling your chain, but it is harder to make a shot that reflects what you are going for than people think. Does that make sense?

So, you're sandbagging on me uh? You don't fool me B, I know artistic vision when I see it.

Thanks B! If I have even half of Don's wit and wisdom during the golden years, I'll consider myself very lucky (and super resilient to early substance abuse).

Glory Invasive1!

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad I could help you find your dark side. Like I said, I'm not a dark person myself (I tend to go from white straight to "lobster"), but it's always nice to know that I can help others find it in themselves.

Yes, I have to agree that this is where all the cool kids hang out. I've been lucky enough to have some of the funniest commenters in the blogosphere come by and write outstanding, hilarity-ensuing comments on my otherwise relatively-average blog. If I only knew how it happened in the first place, I'd turn it into another one of my cash cow ideas.

But alas, I don't.

And although technically Mr. Mills is one in 14.28 (according to the 2005 statistics on the number of Senior Citizens in the world), in my mind he's one in a million. (Or maybe one in approximately 25,000, I don't think I've even met a million people in my life).

Always nice to see you, Invasive1,

Hey Anonymous,

I must say that is quite the outstanding comment. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd assume you were the same anonymous who once wrote the famous quote, "Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so."

But since it was written in the 1800's or something like that, I'm assuming it wasn't you. (Although I do find it odd, I mean your names are spelled the exact same and everything)

Regardless, not only do I find your ephinany "revelational" (is that a word?), I find it eye-opening and Eureka!-like as well. And because I rarely find all three at the same time, it must be brilliant.

Unfortunately I can't help you with the Walla/Wallah confusion, as I myself always thought it was "Wawa." (you can just imagine how awkward it was when one of my students came up to the podium mid picture-taking class and handed me a bottle of Evian).

Thank-you for the stellar comment, Anonymous, I hope to see you back when I do my Wildabeast Photography Gallery ("They're Wildas! No they're Beasts! They're Wildabeasts!")

Great to see you, CLT.

I hope you don't feel you need to be succint just for my benefit...or even pithy for that matter. The more verbally-endowed your comments are, the more verbally-endowed I then become. It's an osmosis thing. Or maybe it's a diffusion of water through a semi-permeable membrane thing? Either way, it makes me more smarter.

I would also love to hear all of the photo advice you have to give me (especially since your wife is such a brilliant photographer and I can tell you know a thing or two about picture-taking as well). But to be honest, it might be a little easier if we just cut through all of the rigamarole (Responsible Care Break- "<em>Always remember to wear your eye-protection while cutting"), </em>and you just send me the pictures you already have on your C drive. That way I don't have to worry about actually "going out there" and taking the photos myself. I mean, it's already the end of September, and you know how cold these Canadian winters can be. Or maybe you don't? (tough to say, since I don't think I''ve ever asked you that question)

By the way, thanks for the poem, CLT. To be honest, that masterpiece was actually the main reason I started drinking Pepsi....well, until TL told me it caused the gayness, that is. Now I stick with Dr. Pepper. Because let's face it...deep down inside, we're all peppers.

I shall leave you now, as I've actually stopped making sense, even to myself.

But thanks for the comment, CLT. And thanks for the "End communication". So much more definite than your dangling "From" used to be.

Glory B! I spend my entire life stumbling around in the dark, and now someone catches all of it through the eye of a camera lense. The flashbacks, the blackouts, the cloudy sky at night after purple mushrooms. Thanks for the dark side, B. Or the B side, dark. This IS where all the cool kids hang-out, and that especially goes for Don. Thanks for a late night laugh.

Nice Photos… These most excellent photographs have inspired me… I should say… required me to reset my monitor to view them properly… at first glance, all I could see was dark… black… nothingness… I spent quite some time staring and wondering and daydreaming ... and asking myself - what the hell are these other people seeing and posting about? Am I losing my mind? I see nothing… Then… an epiphany! I ran a monitor setup and reset the color and brightness levels and Walla! or is it Wallah? On the other hand, how about Shazam! I could see the artistic beauty, the dim but unmistakable outline of a toilet… Wow! Very nice work…

Well, I see Alan has been here, in addition to the usual troublemakers. It's my own damn fault for showing up so late and now there's hardly any room to write.

I'll try and be succint (wink, wink). Perhaps I should stop speaking so parenthetically. It's only going to stretch things out. Back to square one.

Briefly: fantastic post. Your attention to detail is amazing. Love your camera setup. Much like minimal techno, minimalist paintings and minimizing your open windows, your photos are definitely more the sum of what isn't there than what is.

As for photo advice (not that you asked), my recommendation to novice camerapersons and computer users alike, is to open their Command Prompt and type "format C:" You'll be amazed by the amount of minimalism contained (or formerly contained) in your C drive.

I would follow this up with some poetry, but I have none. Please take this couplet from Flavor Flav in lieu of an actual literary work:

<i>The monkey ain't no joke
So you wanna mess with the coke
Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy
The monkey ain't no joke</i>

End communication.
